Hair is made up of three layers – the cuticle, cortex and medulla, with a small amount of water lying between the cuticle and cortex. But in winter, the dry air lifts the cuticle, which causes moisture loss, making hair dry, tangled and frizzy.

According to Celebrity hairstylist, to keep your hair looking sleek and shiny there are some rules you need to follow.

So the first rule is, Keep washing your hair to a minimum, as less shampoo means more moisture. Say two to three times a week, this will prevent your hair from drying out too much.

The next one is, Keep hair well hydrated by using leave-in conditioners, use a deep conditioning treatment every week to keep your hair supple and moist.

Also make use of boar bristle brush: It’s great for circulation and can breathe new life into limp and dry hair. Give a good brush through at night before you go to sleep and one in the morning and your hair will look and feel moisturized.

The last but the most important one is your diet: As hair is protein, it needs good nutrition and hydration for optimal growth. Add fruits, vegetables, and eight glasses of fluids daily. This will help to increase lustre and promote healthy hair.
