American girl goes viral after getting lost on a horse in the jungle in Mexico

An American tourist in Mexico has gone viral after finding herself separated from her group and getting lost in the jungle while riding a horse.

Liz Hicks shared videos from the funny experience on TikTok this week, and actually seemed quite scared as she narrated what was going on.

‘Hi TikTok,’ she said with a wobbly voice. ‘I’m currently in the jungle in Mexico somewhere, I don’t speak Spanish and I’m on a horse and I got drunk and I don’t know how I got here and no one around me speaks my language so they don’t know what I’m saying — I don’t know where I’m going — I just know I’m on a horse.’

Liz Hicks shared videos from the funny experience on TikTok this week, saying she got separated from her group while riding a horse in the jungle and was ‘scared’

'She said: 'I'm currently in the jungle in Mexico somewhere, I don't speak Spanish and I'm on a horse and I got drunk and I don't know how I got here

'No one around me speaks my language so they don't know what I'm saying ¿ I don't know where I'm going ¿ I just know I'm on a horse,' she added

The incident took place near the beach town of Yelapa in the municipality of Cabo Corrientes located in the Mexican state of Jalisco.

Liz is visiting Mexico on vacation, and otherwise seems to be having a great time — though the horse incident gave her a bit of a scare.

In her viral video, which has been viewed 12.2 million times, she shared her teary confession while filming the horse walking underneath her.

There were also two local children on the path in front of her, who kept ‘yelling things at me I don’t understand,’ she said.

'I'm scared, because I don't know how to ride,' she added. 'Somebody help me learn Spanish, please, because I don't want to do this again'

A second video, which was viewed 2.1 million times, shows the tourist further along the trek after becoming separated from her group.

However, she is seen in a much more relaxed manner, wearing sunglasses and even smiling as she spoke to the camera.

‘I don’t know where I’m going, I’m by myself. They sent me on a horse by myself,’ she said.

'The issue with the horse was, I was lost but the horse wasn't lost... the horse knew where it was going, apparently, because it took me to this waterfall,' she said

'I just got separated from my group because my horse kept running faster than everybody else's horse, and I was in the front,' she added

Tripadvisor notes there are several places offering horse rides through the jungle in the area, which is described as exotic with lots of air plants, trees, and songbirds.
