Fergie gets to work! Duchess of York does the chores in lockdown

She might be used to the finer things in life but the Duchess of York has shown she is not above getting stuck in with the household chores.

Sarah Ferguson, 60, is seen doing the dishes and mopping the kitchen floor in new photographs shared on Instagram.

The photos, thought to be taken at the Windsor home she shares with Prince Andrew, were shared by assistant Antonia Marshall yesterday.

Dressed down in a navy skirt and loose emerald green silk blouse, Fergie looked in good spirits as she posed with her foot on a mop bucket with ‘caution: wet floor’ signs added for comedic effect.

Another snap shows her tackling the washing up with a dishcloth thrown over her arm.

The photos were praised by royal supporters who complimented Fergie’s ‘down-to-earth’ and ‘grounded’ nature.

Fergie is thought to be in isolation with ex-husband Prince Andrew at the Royal Lodge, the home they share in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are believed to be spending lockdown separately with their respective partners.

Last week Antonia shared a series of photos showing Andrew and Fergioe packing cupcakes into gift bags to be donated to Thames Hospice in Windsor

The images marked Andrew’s first public appearance since he attended church in Sandringham, Norfolk with the Queen in January.

In the caption, Ms Marshall explained the pair were packing Easter care packages of cakes and biscuits to give to those at the nearby Thames Hospice.

‘Sarah Ferguson and the Duke of York packing all the care packages for the Thames Hospice in Windsor today,’ she said.

‘The York Family are a wonderful and steadfast unit and through this crisis, are continuously helping others. So proud of them all…’

Yesterday Fergie announced she had launched a YouTube channel where she will be sharing a ‘storytime’ each day to lift spirits during lockdown.
