Makeup for Older Women: You’re Never Too Old to Wear a Smokey Eye ;-)

When it comes to makeup for older women, wearing a smokey eye is often considered off-limits. It’s true there are some challenges! We all know that when you add a lot of makeup (as you do in a traditional smokey eye) it can age you. But applied carefully and gently, it can produce a beautiful result.

When applying a more dramatic smokey eye my advice is to use a light hand and a gentle, layered approach. In this video, I apply the eyeshadow in layers and choose colors that complement an older, often crepey eye. The secret is to go light on the powder and blend!

The eye shadow and blush products I use in this video are from my own collection, but the idea is that you can use any brand in the colors I mention. You will need a brown/taupe, purple (or grey) and black. You can also use any black eyeliner you love and any blush that suits your skin tone.

Here are some of the products I used – by the way I mentioned Tati’s Blendiful but kept referring to it as the Beautiful. It is beautiful but called the Blendiful! Here is the link

The person I mentioned when talking about great makeup artistry is Wayne Goss. His YouTube Channel is fabulous
