Hey guys, it’s Kat here. Today, I wanted to talk about four things that you must take when you’re touring on the road, musical festivals, county fairs, and just some little beauty tips to help when the conditions aren’t the greatest to spend an hour getting ready for makeup and stuff like that. Or you might be in a tent, and it’s dusty and dirty. These are my must-have things that have saved my butt on times when I just haven’t had a chance to get ready or was looking less than star quality I guess you could say.
The first thing is when traveling, be sure to have a mirror that you can stick onto the window. I know I toured around in a van at the start of the year. There was times where we’d be traveling six hours a day, and we’d have to show up at the gig, enough time for soundcheck, but we had to be pretty much dressed as much as possible. This little bad boy, I would just clip it on the window and just do my makeup in the window of the car, the van, musician life. [inaudible 00:01:09] secret.
Second secret. This is broken because I use it every single day is the Downy wrinkle releaser plus. This is everyone’s best friend. If you have a wrinkled shirt, just spray it on, and I seriously put my shirt on, and I just spray it, and then I’m off to the races. It’s the best thing since sliced bread I think.
Another little secret is I’m a curly head girl, so if it’s a humid festival or if it’s been raining or if it’s dusty and my hair is just unmanageable frizz, or I haven’t had a chance to even do it, I just put on a hat. I think every girl needs a cute little hat, and look, I could just put it up in a little ponytail or something like that, and I’m ready for the stage.
Another secret is magnetic lashes for the ladies. I’m not very much like a beauty geek. I try and get ready in 10 minutes. Anything that is low maintenance is the bee’s knees. These magnetic lashes, I can clip them on in literally a minute and be out the door. I always find it just makes your face pop and instantly look like you’re stage ready. With the magnetic eyelashes, I have this … this is so broken, but I need to get a new one, just a magnetic round disc that I stole them like this. They’re easy to pop on my eyes, and then I simply take them off. This is literally what I do when I play shows. It’s like the other day I had the fire alarm going off in the building, and I wasn’t ready. I had to go out to a gig. I had a bit of eye mascara on, and we had to evacuate the building. I just threw these on super quick. [inaudible 00:03:18] It’s as simple as that. I use the double wispy from Ardell magnetic lashes.
There’s some few little tips and tricks. There’s four secrets for road life, so I hope they help you all.
